I have to say I don't know much about blogging...but I'm trying to build a ground roots effort to get information out about our post-Ike world here in beautiful Gilchrist, Texas. I made it down to Gilchrist on September 20th to see it for myself. Unimaginable. While the pictures out there are certainly telling...you won't know until you go down yourself.
There is a lot of information swirling around about what is and isn't going to happen to Gilchrist post-Ike. Everything from Entergy won't be running power back to Gilchrist and the Bolivar Water Board isn't going to reconnect our water to the Texas General Land Office Commissioner, Jerry Patterson, quoted in the Houston Chronicle September 16th that "Gilchrist will be nothing more than a beer joint and bait camp" after Ike.
We as a community have to band together and share our information and if possible get confirmations on rumors. Come together Gilchrist...let's rise up again better and prouder than we were before
